This project was a specially designed Earthship that came to us as an experiment. We decided to tackle this project not knowing what to expect. The uniqueness of this building came in many forms as it was designed to replicate an actual tire and was a selected design winner from the airbnb competition for the OMG! Category. Part of the competition is focused on trying to make buildings as green as possible so they wanted to incorporate hempcrete as the insulator and finished exterior and interior with plaster. We added a tint and fresco for the plaster to accomplish the black color for the tire look. The hempcrete was sprayed to a depth of 4-8 inches. depending on how much of the tire was exposed. Overall the efficiency of the building showed amazing results. Completed in August 2023
